David Oikle becomes President of OREA, Ontario Real Estate Association - CONGRATULATIONS

OTTAWA’S DAVID OIKLE BECOMES PRESIDENT OF THE ONTARIO REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATION


TORONTO, ON – The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) has announced that Ottawa-based real estate Broker, David Oikle, has assumed the role of President of OREA. The announcement follows the Association’s annual general meeting on March 3, 2021.

In this capacity, Mr. Oikle will be representing Ontario’s 80,000 REALTORS® on the 2021 OREA Board of Directors. He will lead OREA’s efforts to continue to provide guidance for safe real estate practices, raise the bar on professional standards, advocate on behalf of current and aspiring homeowners, and increase housing supply and affordability across the province.

“2020 was a tough and trying year full of uncertainties, but our members, Boards, and Associations persevered, while continuing to successfully advocate for homeowners and make Ontario REALTORS® North American leaders in professional standards, training and modern real estate tools,” said Mr. Oikle. “I’m proud and honoured to be the 2021 OREA President and I look forward to helping our members, their clients, and their communities navigate today’s dynamic real estate market.”

Active in the real estate profession for 17 years, Mr. Oikle is a Broker with Royal LePage Team Realty, Brokerage in Ottawa. Mr. Oikle is a member of the Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB) where he served as a Director for six years before becoming President in 2015. He has served as a member and Chair of several OREB committees and task forces, including the Finance and Audit, Governance, MLS® and Technology committees, as well as the By-Law Review Task Force.

The Ontario Real Estate Association represents 80,000 brokers and salespeople who are members of the 37 real estate boards throughout the province. OREA serves its Realtor members through a wide variety of professional publications, educational programs, advocacy, and other services.
